Drillers have a highly responsible position and are in charge of anything and everything that happens above and on the rig floor.  Drillers operate the drilling equipment and comes with a pay check of around $86,000.

This is not an easy position and requires a lot of skill both on the machines and as a supervisor.  The Rig manager is your superior and will inform you of what tasks need to be performed.  It is then your responsible to ensure that the crew are directed to do the right tasks at the right time and requires a lot of initative.

This is seldom a position offered to an outsider and requires an understanding of all levels of the job and all aspects of the rig.  The job includes:-

•    Working on the rig taking part in drilling activities
•    Training new staff
•    Overseeing crew members
•    Recording and dealing with paperwork
•    Overall co-ordination of the team
