Offshore Medic
Medics on oil rigs are generally not qualified doctors but do have a high level of medical training and are often qualified nurses. When working on smaller rigs, this position is sometimes coupled with the Rig Safety and Training Co-ordinator. The duties of this position include:-

• Managing the Sick Bay
• Maintaining the Medical Stocks and supplies
• Issuing Medication
• Keeping up of all medical reports for all crew on board
• Training crew first aiders.
An estimated salary for this position is between $60,000 and $69,000
Qualification that are required include:-

• Besides previous medical training, you will need to complete
• Medic’s course – an intensive four week course
• Oil Rig Survival course being three days.
